6.10.2024

The ceremony was attended by the Duke of Huéscar, Fernando Fitz-James Stuart, who was an honorary witness to the agreement. The mayor of Salamanca, Carlos García Carbayo and the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Nuevo León, Maricarmen Martínez, were responsible for formalizing this important collaboration.

The main objective of this agreement is the development of joint initiatives that promote tourist and cultural exchange between the two regions, taking advantage of their historical, cultural and gastronomic riches to attract visitors and strengthen their local economies.

During his speech, Mayor García Carbayo highlighted the relevance of this agreement: “Salamanca and Nuevo León share a common heritage that unites us and provides us with the opportunity to work together on projects that benefit our communities. This agreement is a significant step in strengthening our ties and promoting tourism in both regions.”

For his part, Maricarmen Martínez emphasized the importance of this collaboration for the state of Nuevo León: “We are very excited to sign this agreement with Salamanca, a city that represents so much for our history and culture. This agreement will allow us not only to promote our tourist destinations, but also to learn and enrich each other.”

The Monterrey Palace, a symbol of the shared history between Spain and Mexico, provided a perfect setting for this firm, reinforcing the idea that tourism can be a bridge between cultures and a powerful tool for economic and social development.
